TLIC3004 - Drive Heavy Rigid Vehicle (HR)

D.O.T Requirements

To undertake the HR licence course, you must:

  1. Hold a valid WA C-class licence for at least 2 years OR an MR/LR licence for at least 1 year.
  2. Pass a DoT-required eye test. If you require glasses or contact lenses while driving, the test must be completed while wearing them. Failure to meet the vision standards may delay training until clearance is obtained from the DoT or an optometrist.
  3. Disclose any medical conditions that could affect training. These must be assessed and approved by the DoT, and further medical evaluations may be required.
  4. Inform the training provider about any disabilities or learning challenges (e.g., hearing impairment, dyslexia, mobility issues) that may impact training.
HR-A (Automatic) Licence: Allows you to drive automatic transmission heavy rigid vehicles. Best for beginners or those intending to drive automatic-only heavy trucks.
